Start with a photo, fiber content, color or print, remaining yardage, fabric width, prewashed status, care instructions, and intended project. Add purchase price or store only if you actually use those details.

Do not inventory every pin, button, or scrap. Record the fabric and containers that repeatedly make you search, rebuy something you already own, or abandon a project before the first cut.
